The pictures speak for themselves but briefly, a plain white body looks a bit boring! I mean, it’s an excellent model by Minichamps, but for my own liking, I’d like to see some aspects of the car highlighted. Although, as I think about it more, I’m looking at it from the unlikely position of a prospective (real) Porsche buyer – and that’s very unlikely!! This is another Porsche GT2 Evo by GT-Spirit in 1/18 scale. A sealed resin body with superb detail, and a sublime paint finish. Having said that, I’m inclined to want to perform some modifications to it – I know, it sounds daft, and kind of arrogant! Continue reading “…………..more of my 1/18 scale collection!”
Something I never seem to have the time to do, sorry, I should rephrase that; Something I never seem to make time for is, reviewing my diecast collection!. Over the last couple of years I have been ferreting away diecasts of my favorite cars with the intention of making a proper display case for them in fact, that’s the real problem! Many of the most beautiful model cars I have are still in their original packaging and carefully stored in a dark press, away from any preying eyes or little sticky fingers! Continue reading “Some of my 1/18 diecasts”
I eventually got finishing the figure of Akira Nakai San. I went for the orange tint in the hair department and from a photo (which I now can’t find too much stuff!!) I gave him a pair of combats. I left his sneakers well worn – from all the crawling around he does underneath the cars (making sure his creations look as good under the skin as they do outside)! Continue reading “Akira Nakai San from Rauh Welt Begriff in 1/18”
The motor racing legend which is; Tazio Nuvolari is beautifully captured in this latest casting from Immense Miniatures in the USA. Known by fans as the “Flying Mantuan” or the “Great Little Man”, he was slight in stature and … Continue reading Tazio Nuvolari 1/18 figure – Immense!
A WIP of Magnus in a slightly smaller scale – 1/24 – More later! Continue reading Magnus- and then there were two!!
I’ve done some painting of the figure to ensure that it captures (in some way) a likeness of the character. Initially, I committed myself to just painting the face, but I got a bit carried away and before I knew it, I was detailing the tattoos on his arms – pure indulgence on my part, so not a total waste of time! Continue reading “A Magnus lookalike – Hopefully!”
Magnus is up on the bench competing for a new Hair-do!
Using plenty of fusewire to “knit” his dreddlocks, the hair is thankfully beginning to take shape. I’ve used a blob of Milliput to create a kind of large beanie for what surely must be a big mop of hair to have tucked inside. Continue reading “Making some headway with Magnus!”
Starting out on a sculpt of Magnus Walker in 1/18 scale. Just layering up some beard on a suitable head I came across and hopefully a likeness of the bould Magnus will appear. Continue reading “Looking for Magnus!!”
I came across a nice 1/24 scale figure of Magnus Walker when I was ordering some supplies from Spotmodel recently. It’s a resin casting and a great companion for a couple of Porsches I had lying in my stash. Continue reading “Magnus Walker and a brace of Porsches”
