John Murphy (aka “Spud”) has done it again with another superb piece of mould making and casting from my modified masters of Tazio Nuvolari. Continue reading “Spud hits the spot with Nuvolari figures 1 & 2!”
I managed to knock two other items off my very lengthy “bucket list” in the last couple of weeks with a vist to the Cosford Airshow last week-end (Sun’ 9th June) to get my very first look at the last flying Avro Vulcan – XH558. Continue reading “Vulcan XH558 takes to the sky at Cosford Airshow 2013”

I’m out of sequence with my promised line-up of Villeneuve figures with this post. Continue reading “Gilles Villeneuve 1/20 figure – final drive – Zolder 1982”

Another resin figure from GF-models which I’ve painted up; this time Gilles Villeneuve as he would have appeared when he had his first public outing for the “Scuderia” driving an F1 Ferrari 312T-2 in the Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport park in 1977. Some shots of my RA301 together with a GF-models figure painted up to represent “Big John”. I’ve always liked this diecast although I’m hoping that Ebbro will bring one out in plastic kit form – it would have such potential and loads of appeal! This time it’s a 1/18th resin figure from Racing Dioramics of the late great Mark Donohue. Continue reading “Another great American racer in 1/18th.”
The Donington Historic meeting last week-end (May 3- 5) offered up a wonderful mixture of nostalgic sights and sounds from a variety of Motor-sporting eras, but the highlight for me was seeing two cars from the Senna collection (Williams FW08C and Toleman Hart TG184-02) out on track being driven with not so much anger, more like sympathetic verve and spirit! – terrific stuff indeed. Racing Dioramics make some beautiful large scale figures (1/18) in resin. Â The figures have so much character, they clean up well and are a joy to paint. Continue reading “The “All American””

A sight which brought a smile to a lot of faces in the parking area in Silverstone at the Moto GP (a couple of years back), was the sight of a pink Ducati entitled “The Nurse†–  what else! Continue reading “The Doctor’s secret weapon!”
