Forty years on and the iconic imagery generated by the Film “Le Mans” is as strong as it ever was and continues to live on in all sorts of ways; from posters to mugs and T shirts and of course Steve McQueen is in my opinion what gives the whole le mans thing it’s special ingredient. McQueen, apart from being one of those grity actors, he was also a pretty good race driver and he actually partnered Peter Revson in a Porsche in the Sebring 12 hours back in 1970 – so a pretty handy man behind the wheel.   Anyway while he’s not classified as a racing driver in the strict sense of the word, he’s definitely on my list of favourites and I have a number of figures of him and planned. So this is the first of those based on one of the really nice Denizen castings. I modified the helmet slightly by adding a slightly deeper sunvisor to the helmet and I also beefed up the scarf around his neck just to complete the look McQueen carved in the part when on screen.  I used two Gulf decals and the rest is paint. So one down and (from memory), I think I have three or four more versions of him to do – that’s all for now.
