The August session of the Peoples Art Exhibition 2010 took place Fri- Sun 20-22nd on what was a warm (and mainly dry) week-end. The exhibition (which takes place three times a year on three week-ends during June, Aug & Sept) is always a great attraction for visitors, tourists and indeed Dubliners, and this year was no exception. While lots of people visited the exhibition, sales were significantly down but this didn’t prevent everyone from enjoying themselves. Look out for the next session which takes place 24- 26th September 2010. IT’S ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO VISIT THE DONNINGTON MUSEUM IN THE UK . THEY HAVE AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB COLLECTION OF RACING CARS DATING FROM THE EARLY 1950’S RIGHT UP TO THE CURRENT MACINERY SUCH AS THE MCLAREN DRIVEN BY LEWIS HAMILTON IN 2007. THE MUSEUM IS VERY ACCESSABLE BEING JUST OFF THE M1 MOTORWAY AND RIGHT BESIDE THE EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT. Siffert, Stewart, Hill, Clark and the “Commendatore” Enzo Ferrari – more or less completed. Skin tones, logos and shading all done – gloss coat on helmets etc – some little touch ups required – followed by a final matt varnish – more on the way.
