Workbench update……(7th Aug)
In this workbench cluster I have five 43rd figures together with a rather surprising “find” in 1/32 scale! Continue reading “Workbench update……(7th Aug)”

….or some such other noble phrase -(it was all I could think of at the time) – so apologies if it sounds a bit OTT! Continue reading “Basking in the gaze of their master……..”
Few would disagree with that strapline, particularly when Enzo Ferrari himself likened Villeneuve to the great Tazio Nuvolari. “When they presented me with this ‘piccolo Canadese’ (little Canadian), this minuscule bundle of nerves, I immediately recognised in him the physique of Nuvolari and said to myself, let’s give him a try.” Continue reading “Three of (one of the best F1 drivers)……Gilles!”
I’ve completed painting these figures in the last few days; the Niki Lauda figure is a fine resin casting in 1/18th (and one of my favourites from the Racing Dioramics stable). Continue reading “Recent completions from my painting station – (updated 16th March)”
A batch of new sculpts/ conversions in 43rd scale include, Senna, Hill, Clark, Hunt and Siffert. Continue reading “Workbench update – (29th Sept’) plus “EJ” (& Jordan) – Villeneuve & Star Wars RB1!”
I’m out of sequence with my promised line-up of Villeneuve figures with this post. Continue reading “Gilles Villeneuve 1/20 figure – final drive – Zolder 1982”
Another resin figure from GF-models which I’ve painted up; this time Gilles Villeneuve as he would have appeared when he had his first public outing for the “Scuderia” driving an F1 Ferrari 312T-2 in the Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport park in 1977. Continue reading “Gilles Villeneuve 1/20 scale driver figure – first Ferrari drive – Mosport 1977”
I’m still harvesting my current crop of 43rd scale figures at the moment – emerging from the current lineup (as I hop from one to the other in a somewhat hapazard motion) is another Gilles Villeneuve. Continue reading “More 43rd scale figures”
I always liked the look of this particular figure from Denizen Miniatures. Like all the figures in the Denizen range they have wonderful anatomical proportions for tiny 43rd scale, so I plucked this one from my stock of primed and based figures this morning and decided that I would paint him up as Michael Schumacher in his 7up Jordan colours when he made his F1 debut back in 1991. Had he not been poached away by Flavio to the Benetton team, things might have worked out differently for EJ’s team…….bla bla … and if pigs could fly Continue reading “Michael Schumacher Jordan 191 Spa Belgium 1991 -1/43 scale figure”
I’ve combined two metal miniatures with a diecast from Hotwheels to create this little vignette, which could have happened in reality – who knows? Continue reading “Enzo keeps a watching brief as Gilles mounts the prancing horse!”
