Basking in the gaze of their master……..

….or some such other noble phrase -(it was all I could think of at the time) – so apologies if it sounds a bit OTT! Continue reading “Basking in the gaze of their master……..”
Ayrton Senna’s 20th anniversary

Twenty years ago today, the world of Formula 1 lost of one of it’s greatest sons; Ayrton Senna, in what can only be described as an horrific and explosive impact when his car ploughed into the concrete retaining wall on the outside of Tamburello corner on the Imola race circuit. Size matters…..!

As a result of developing cateracts in both eyes over the last few months, I’m having to switch my painting hours to larger scale figures and away from the smaller 1/43rd scale which I tend to favour. Continue reading “Size matters…..!”
Three of (one of the best F1 drivers)……Gilles!

Few would disagree with that strapline, particularly when Enzo Ferrari himself likened Villeneuve to the great Tazio Nuvolari. “When they presented me with this ‘piccolo Canadese’ (little Canadian), this minuscule bundle of nerves, I immediately recognised in him the physique of Nuvolari and said to myself, let’s give him a try.” Continue reading “Three of (one of the best F1 drivers)……Gilles!”
Recent completions from my painting station – (updated 16th March)

Continue reading “Workbench update – and some “Special” paintbrushes – (Updated; Feb 1st)”
“Killer Heels”!

I’ve had this Phoenix metal figure in my stash for some time, and over Christmas/New Year I eventually got to paint it and I have to say it was a “fun” experience. Continue reading ““Killer Heels”!”
Best New Year Wishes…………….

Casadio (Revival) Alfa Romeo P3 1/20 scale

I bought this Casadio Alfa Romeo (P3) 1/20 scale metal kit on Ebay recently. Some partial assembly has been done by the previous owner and judging by the poor finish, I would say it was done by someone who had little or no experience at model building – hence I got it at a good price. Taxi….Taxi…..TAXI……..!

I continue to be slightly obsessed with replicating “F1 Taxis” scenes in miniature. Continue reading “Taxi….Taxi…..TAXI……..!”
